World Exposition 2010 Shanghai China

Hong Kong SAR, China Ticket Sales Launch Ceremony

The World Expo 2010 Shanghai China, Hong Kong SAR, China Ticket Sales Launch Ceremony was being held on 2 April 2009 at the JW Marriott Hotel.  The ceremony was jointly organized by the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, the Government of HKSAR and China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Ltd.  They were represented by Mr. Chen Xianjin, Deputy Director General, Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, Mr. Joshua Law, JP, Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau, Government of HKSAR and Mr. Zhou Laiwei, Director & General Manager, China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Ltd.  Leaders from the local tourism industry, various chambers and institutions, world trade organizations and the press, around 150 guests in total attended to witness the ticket sales launch of the Shanghai Expo.  The World Expo, the Olympics and the World Cup are the three mega events in the world.  The Shanghai Expo will be held between 1 May to 31 October 2010, 184 days in total.  A total of 233 countries and international institutions have confirmed participation.  The Expo expects to attract 70 million local and international visitors.  It will be the record breaking with the highest number of visitors and the highest number of participation in its history. 

The World Expo 2020 Ticket Sales Launch Ceremony was officiated at by Mr. Joshua LAW, Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs (Left six), Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman of HKSMEGA (left one) and other socialites
