HKSMEGA paid a visit to the City of Conghua,
Guangdong to explore opportunities for investment and business
cooperation. The study mission of over 20 delegates was led by Mr
William YU, President of HKSMEGA and comprised Ms LIU Yan Fang,
Vice-president, Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman, as well as Messrs. Albert
LAU, Michael MAK and CHUNG Kwok Shing, Vice-chairmen of HKSMEGA.
Delegates also included businessmen from Greater China with keen
interest in making investments in organic fruit and vegetables,
floriculture, ecological trekking and health leisure projects. They were
Mr. William YU, President of HKSMEGA; Mr. Hunter LIN, Vice-president of
Changsha Taiwan Business Association and Mr. SHEN Zhi Qiang, General
Manager of Shenzhen Fulink Logistics Co., Ltd. The study mission was
also accompanied by three experts from Italy, who were engaged in EU
regulations and certification for organic farming. The city of Conghua
was dominated by farming and leisure business and characterized by
hot-spring hotels as well as agribusiness firms. The study mission
called on Ten Thousand Mu Flower Modern Agricultural Park along with
Guangzhou Flower Research Centre, which was committed to the research
efforts on flower buds and seedlings. The study mission then visited
Great Hill Corporation from Taiwan with specialization in cultivation of
relishing pitaya (dragon fruit) and Conghua Rose Garden with varieties
of colourful roses.. Thanks were due to Ms LIU Zong Jing, Standing
Committee Member of Conghua Municipal Committee and Mr. LI Jun,
Vice-director of Agriculture Bureau, who accompanied the visits and Mr.
HE Jing Qing, Vice-secretary of Conghua Municipal Committee, who hosted
a bucolic lunch for the study mission. The delegates recognized the
positioning of Conghua and were confident of making investments therein
in the future.
10-14 November 2011
HKSMEGA made a five-day business trip to Henan
Province under the leadership of Mr CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman. Three
Vice-chairmen who joined the trip were Mr. Albert LAU, Mr. Michael MAK
and Mr. CHUNG Kwok Shing. The purpose of the trip was to attend the
opening ceremony for The Second China Matching Activites Series for
Industry Transfers in Zhengzhou. Concurrently, State Council Information
Office hosted a press conference on endorsing Central Economic Zone. In
future, Henan will be developed into a rich and prosperous agricultural
province via industrialization, urbanization and agricultural
modernization. Henan will meet the national demand for staple food and
produce medium- and high-end products for national distribution on the
strength of its central geographical position. The delegation made
calls on various organizations for business networking so as to explore
business opportunities for SMEs in Hong Kong. Included are Mr. HUANG An
Fu, Centre-in-charge of Henan Industry and Information Technology
Department; Ms WANG Dong Xia, Mr. DENG Zhi Jun, Mr. ZHAO Cun Zhou, who
were Vice-presidents of Henan SMEs Development and Promotion
Association; Mr. FAN Xiu Fang, Director of Henan Tourism Bureau; Mr. HU
Jin Bao, Vice-chairman of Henan Chamber of Commerce, CCOIC and Mr. LI
Hai Lin, Principal Lawyer of Henan Yu Long Law Firm. They were very
interested in establishing partnership with SMEs in Hong Kong. Apart
from activities in Zhengzhou, the delegation also visited the
neighbouring municipalities such as the County of Hua and the City of

LAU of HKSMEGA were invited by Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Ltd (HKMC) to a
briefing session on the progress and optimization measures
of SME Financing Guarantee Scheme. The briefing session was hosted by Ms
Irene MOK, Vice-president and Ms Kathleen YEUNG, Vice-president of. HKMC

.HKSMEGA led by Mr. William YU, President, attended the first plenary
meeting of Guangdong Association for Cooperation and Exchanges of
Private Enterprises (GACEPE) at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Guangzhou. In the
reception hosted by GACEPE, Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman and
Mr. TAN Ming Zhuo, President of GACEPE signed a bilateral cooperation
agreement.
11-12 August, 2011 HKSMEGA made a study mission to the City of Luoding, Guangdong, to explore business opportunities and strengthen bilateral relationship. The study mission led by Mr. William YU, President, comprised Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman, Mr. Albert LAU, Vice-chairman and other committee members. The study mission first visited Astec Electronics (Luoding) Co., Ltd, the leading enterprise in the City. After the visit, the study mission called on the municipal government and was heartily welcomed by Mr. CHEN Min, Party Secretary of Luoding City Committee of CPC. During the briefing session, government officials from various departments were present to attend to queries. HKSMEGA was earnestly interested in its agribusiness and bonsai horticulture and expected to make investment in future. A reception was hosted at Holly Bay Hotel by the municipal government to consummate the visit by HKSMEGA. 13 June, 2011
Organized by China Travel Service (HK) Ltd and
co-organized by HKSMEGA, a study mission of officials from Human
Resources and Social Protection Bureau visited Hong Kong . The officials
were representatives in the public sector from six major cities in
China, including Nanning, Wuhan, Changsha, Haikou, Zhengzhou and
Guangzhou. The delegation paid a visit to Lok Sin Tong Chu Ting Cheong
Home for the Aged in Tai Po. After a guided tour to the facilities, the
host and the delegation held a seminar for discussion on the prospects
of interactions and cooperation across the border.
13 April, 2011 Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman and Mr. Albert LAU, Vice-chairman, of HKSMEGA were invited to attend agreements signing ceremony and banquet held at Shangri-La Hotel, Hong Kong Island, by Municipal Government of Manzhouli, Inner Mongolia. They also met with Mr. XU Wei Hua, President of Manzhouli SMEs Association. 2010 6 Septmeber , 2010 Mr. Albert LAU, Vice-chairman, of HKSMEGA was invited to attend a welcome luncheon at Bauhinia Room, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, hosted by Hong Kong Trade Development Council to honour the visit paid by Mr. Ivan Gasparovic, President of the Slovak Republic. 29 August, 2010 Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman and Mr. Albert LAU & Michael MAK Vice-chairmen, of HKSMEGA were invited to attend the inaugural ceremony of Shenzhen Xuzhou Chamber of Commerce at Sheraton Hotel, Shenzhen. The ceremony, which included entertainment and a banquet, was graced by the presence of Xuzhou leadership. 28 February , 2010 Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman and Mr. Albert LAU, Vice-chairman, of HKSMEGA were invited to attend 2010 Spring Reception hosted by People's Government of Guangdong Province at Grand Hall, HKECC, Wanchai, Hong Kong. Mr HUANG Hua Hua, Governor of Guangdong Province, delivered a speech and emphasized on the increasing co-operations between Hong Kong and Guangdong. Accompanied by chief officials, Mr. Donald TSANG, Chief Executive of HKSAR Government made a welcoming speech with festival greetings. Concurrently, a photo exhibition for HK-Guangdong joint ventures was showcased on the sidelines of the gala event, which was attended by 2600 socialites from political and business circles. Mr. Kyran SZE, Hon President of HKSMEGA,
attended a breakfast briefing on The Power of Procurement in Driving
Sustainability, hosted by Business Environment Council. As one of
the keynote speakers, Mr. SZE, Managing Director of Aedas Ltd., shared
his experience and the business opportunities of SMEs in the capacity
of a celebrated architect. His presentation was overwhelmingly touché

HKSMEGA hosted a spring reception cum partnership
signing ceremony at People’s Building, Futian, Shenzhen on 28 February,
2009. Guests of honour in attendance included Mr. GAO Guo Hui, Deputy
Secretary General of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government and Mr. RONG
Fu Hua, Deputy Director, Kowloon Sub-Office, Liaison Office of the
Central People’s Government in HKSAR. The partnership signing ceremony
was conducted between Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman of HKSMEGA and Mr. J.J.
NA, Managing Director, Uni-World Services Co., Ltd. as an alliance to
boost HK-Shenzhen economic and trade activities. In the meantime, Mr
NA was appointed Chief Representative in South Korea and Mr. XUE Wen
Xiang, a celebrated international consultant in Shanghai, Honourable
President of HKSMEGA. Their certificates of appointment were presented
by Mr. RONG. The reception was graced by social elites across the border
in addition to office-bearers of HKSMEGA. Mr. Scott Chan,
Vice-president, gratefully sponsored red and white wines. The banquet
ended in cheers and good wishes. . 2008 10 - 12 December, 2008 The World SME Expo 2008 was held at HKCEC for three days from 10 December,2008. HKSMEGA was one of the supporting organizations with its booth at 1C30. HKSMEGA took advantage of this occasion for networking and distributing over 1,000 copies of our Special-edition Yearbook to celebrate The Olympics 2008 and our13th Anniversary. The Expo was a great success on the strength of 31,100 visitors of which 1,110 overseas visitors came from 56 countries and regions. More than 2,400 participants were Chinese business and government entities from 21 provinces and 52 cities. The Expo, which was divided into two business zones, namely, Solutions Hall and Opportunities Hall with 10 theme pavilions, attracted 287 exhibitors from Hong Kong, China and other 43 countries. The World SME Expo 2009 is to be hosted from 2 to 4 December 2009. 31October - 2 November, 2008 The China Food Fair 2008 (Fair) was successfully hosted at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre from 31 October to 2 November, 2008. HKSMEGA was one of the organizers. The Fair attracted 120,013 professional buyers and visitors from China and abroad, of whom 5,616 were overseas buyers along with 6 study missions from professional and trade associations as well. They were representative of 300-plus corporations hailing from the US, Italy, France, Japan and Greater China in total of 13 countries and regions. That the gross exhibition area of the Fair exceeds 25,000 m² testifies to the fact that the Fair is the largest of professional events for food in South China. About 73 media organizations covered the Fair from all perspectives. Concurrently, China Food fair Summit 2008 was launched as the biggest and latest forum in Shenzhen for food professionals. Corporate leaders and delegates of trade associations who came from the US, Japan, Italy and Greater China took part in the forum. Topics included food technology, food safety, environmental issues and certification for imports and exports. Professional exhibitors comprised from food importers/exporters, dealers, wholesalers and retailers, supermarkets and outlets to hoteliers, caterers as well as merchandisers for food and beverage. The Fair fetched a turnover about RMB¥2.6 billion, which would trigger the sales growth of food enterprises on the rim of South China. 21-23 April, 2008
Mr. Andy HUNG, Hon President; Mr. LOU Liu Shu,
Hon President; Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman; Mr. Albert LAU,
Vice-chairman and Ms Amy Xiao, Chief Representative in Guangzhou of the
Association were invited to attend the opening ceremony of The Anji
International Bamboo Product Trade Expo 2008. Other Guests of Honour
included Mr. WANG Wenyuan, Vice-chairman of The 9th Chinese
People’s Political Consultative Conference; Mr. Bao Yujun, President of
China Private Economic Research Institute and Mr. Eugene Liang,
President of Canton Fair Co., Ltd. During the opening ceremony, Mr. Andy
HUNG, Hon President and Ms WANG Shu, Deputy Party Secretary of Anji
County jointly unveiled the plaque to mark the establishment of the
organizing committee for an international industrial park on behalf of
Anji and HKSMEGA. After the opening ceremony, guests were escorted and
shown around China International bamboo Art Trade Centre. |
