6 December, 2005 The Association was invited by China Hao Hua Petrochemicals Holdings General Company to attend its annual meeting in Shenzhen with representatives including Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman; Mr. Albert LAU, Vice-chairman and Mr. Peter CHAI, Vice-president, who delivered an opening speech and presented Plaque of Outstanding Performance to its subsidiary companies. <Photos> 21-23 November, 2005 The Association took part in World SME Expo 2005 as a supporting organization. The Expo was organized by Trade Development Council as a platform for SMEs from over the world. Many visitors called upon the booth of the Association for business opportunities and networking. Mr. Albert LAU, Vice-chairman, made a presentation entitled: How Do International SMEs Achieve Branding by Guerilla Marketing in China? <Photos> 11-13 November, 2005 Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman of the Association, led a study mission to the Cities of Mao Ming and Zhan Jiang, Guangdong . <More> 5 November, 2005 Leadership from Guzhen County, Anhui Province called on the Association for networking. <Photos> 1 October, 2005 Mr. Andy Hung, President, and Mr. Chan Shan Ho, Chairman, were invited by the Government of HKSAR to attend the flag-raising ceremony and reception to celebrate the National Day of PRC. Mr. Albert Lau, Vice-chairman, was also invited to attend the reception. 11 September, 2005 Mr. Chan Shan Ho, Chairman, was invited by the Government of HKSAR to attend a banquet at Shangri-La Hotel, Hong Kong Island, in honour of Mr. Zeng Qinghong, Vice-president of PRC, who would officiate at the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland the next day. There were only 400 guests to attend the banquet. 3-4 September, 2005 The 2005 Hong Kong and Panyu Leadership Summit Conference was held in Jingxiu Xiangjiang Club, Panyu. The first day was highlighted by making visits to anchor enterprises in Panyu, including iron works, cabling works and hi-tech industrial park. The conference the next day was officially opened by Mayor of Panyu and followed by a keynote speech delivered by Mr. ZHENG Fenming, Deputy Director of Guangdong Research Institute for Social Studies. Panel discussion focused on problems to be faced by SMEs. Two prizes were awarded to outstanding SMEs, namely, "The SME with the Most Potential" and "The SME with the Best Public Image." Prize presenters included Mr. Andy HUNG, President; Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman; Mr. Albert LAU, Vice-chairman and Mr. Joe SIU, Vice-chairman. The conference was consummated by a buffet where attendees, mostly young entrepreneurs and socialites, mingled for networking and exploring business opportunities. <Photos> 31 July, 2005 Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman of HKSMEGA, was interviewed by Mjn Ying Economic Weekly, a supplement of Panyu Daily. In the interview, he argued that the SMEs between Hong Kong and Panyu should enhance mutual networking. He also elaborated on the three ills with which SMEs are diagnosed. <Clipping> 12 July, 2005 HKSMEGA was the supporting organization of a seminar, entitled: SMEs on Brinkmanship at 4/F, Sheraton Hotel under the auspices of Economic Times Group. The seminar was chaired by Mr. Albert Lau, Vice-chairman of HKSMEGA, and attended by a 200-strong audience. <Photos> 1 July, 2005 Mr. Andy Hung, President, and Mr. Chan Shan Ho, Chairman, were invited by the Government of HKSAR to attend the flag-raising ceremony and reception to mark the eighth anniversary of Hong Kong's handover to China. 14 June, 2005 Mr. Andy HUNG, President, Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman, and Mr. Albert LAU and Mr. Joe SIU, Vice-chairmen, were invited by the Trade and Industry Department, HKSAR, to attend a meeting for exchange of viewpoints on SME support services. Mr. NGAI Wing Chit, Assistant Director-General, hosted the meeting, in which both parties carried a hearty dialogue. The meeting lasted for an hour and was concluded with presentation of a souvenir flag and photo-taking. <Photos> 2 April, 2005 The Association hosted a banquet in Shenzhen to welcome the leadership of Jiangxi and Hubei Provinces. <Photo> 7 March, 2005 The Association hosted a banquet in Shenzhen to celebrate the Year of the Rooster.
