16 to 18 November, 2004 As one of the supporting organizations for World SME Expo hosted by TDC, the Association was invited to join the Expo as an exhibitor. The Expo was graced by 3,000 delegates from international business organizations and Chinese counterparts and attended by 28,000 visitors during the three-day period. The booth provided free by TDC was overwhelmingly visited by small and medium entrepreneurs for business networking. <Photos> 23 to 26 May, 2004 A 12-member delegation made a study mission to Changsha, Hunan and visited Changsha China SME Development Zone. <Details> 9 January, 2004 A discussion forum was held at Club Regency in HITEC, Kowloon Bay, in response to tourism privileges granted under CEPA. The forum was attended by Mr. ZHU Yongxing, President of Beijing Railway International Travel Service along with Mr and Mrs ZHU of Sunlight Tour, in Hong Kong and Guilin. Mr. Billy HO, President and Mr. CHAN Shan Ho, Chairman, both proposed that the Association should join forces with tour operators in China to exploit resources for tour and leisure packages, such as study missions with a theme, tailor-made travel, and business-inviting trips. The efforts would lead to more business opportunities conducive to better economic growth in Hong Kong. Mr. ZHU of Beijing Railway International Travel Service remarked that railway was a competitive edge in travel industry and gave rise to mutual benefits. Other participants included Mr and Mrs Patrick WONG, JP, Mr. Andy HUNG and Mr. Luther WONG, Vice-presidents of the Association. |
